Appeal Review Checklist

Use this checklist when reviewing a player appeal. See Appeals & Review for the full process.

Before You Start

• [ ] Confirm you were not the staff member who issued the original action (route to another reviewer if you were, when practical).
• [ ] Read the original documentation in full.
• [ ] Read the appeal in full before forming a conclusion.

Evidence Review

• [ ] Has all available evidence been reviewed, including anything the appeal newly submitted?
• [ ] Was the applicable rule correctly identified?
• [ ] Does the evidence support the original conclusion?
• [ ] Was the disciplinary action proportional to the violation?
• [ ] Has genuinely new evidence been presented that wasn't available originally?
• [ ] Were established procedures followed?

Decision

• [ ] Determine the outcome: upheld, modified, reduced, removed, or escalated.
• [ ] Document the reasoning, not just the outcome.
• [ ] Record the review status.
• [ ] Inform the player of the outcome.

Reminder

An appeal exists to verify the correct outcome — not to defend the original decision. Changing a decision in light of new evidence reflects professionalism, not inconsistency.
